LadyGaga x Polaroid

- MINUS
+ PLUS

= EQUALS

Two of my loves, Lady G and Photography, are combining! She's the new face of Polarioid as well as the creative director, soon to participate in creating specialty products. Creative Director,Singer, Dancer-what else will she do? To be honest, if she slaps her face onto a polaroid camera, I'd get it in a heartbeat. Good choice, Polaroid- Now if they could bring back their instant film cameras.
I had one growing up and totally didn't take advantage of it. The film was expensive and I was even more impatient. Now, I wish I would've stocked up so I could embark on camera whore adventures. I mean, there are digital polaroid makers and stuff but it's just not the same. It's like online dating. Same concept but it's NOT the same. Not that I experienced the latter. Chopped and Screwed

Hair. It really is a complex issue for me. I'm a fan of the obscene and ridiculous but when it comes to hair, I tend to stick with boring and simple. There's nothing wrong with either boring and simple, but they're just that. It's just, I don't know what the hell to do with my hair. The texture is a cross between Cambodian wavy thick hair and Coarse Black hair. Some parts of my head are silky smooth and the other part is afro. Most stylists I go to don't really know how to deal with it.

My dad got me an Instyler for Christmas. I had no idea what it was before my dad gave it to me. Supposedly it can curl, straighten, and do all sorts of tricks. I decided to try this thing out-at 11:00 pm, the night before school. My sister straightened it for me as I sat throught 3 episodes of Jersey Shore. Jersey Shore is addictive garbage, by the way. After she finished, I looked at the ends..ughhhh, so I decided we should cut them off.Snip, Snip, Snip and this is what my hair looked like:

Kinda Horrendous? I agree.

Soooo I ended up at Empire Hair Salon, aka Blaine's Beauty School. This place is hit or miss. I've definitely been caught up in ugly haircuts before0 this is NOT the place to go if you can't take chances. It is cheap, though. Anyway, fast forward to the part where I get my hair Shampooed, conditioned, blowdryed, and straightened. Don't foger the burning too- this woman kept on burning my scalp with the goddamn blowdryer. I didn't know getting your hair done was supposed to hurt!Anyway, the end result was this:

The best part of having my hair like this is being able to wear a hat! With my hair always in a bun, it was hard to wear hats. That, and I thought I had a gigantic head.

Now I have to maintain this by repeating the process every week.Eventually I'm just gonna dye it, cut it close, and grow it all back healthily. The End.

One More

Ok, I keep finding these inspirational messages that I like. I probably don't follow 85% of the advice that I'd like to take. But this one? this is feasible. People really are full of shit. I'm in no way exempt.
I'd like to know who thinks of these messages. Are they philosophers or just graphic design students who have a knack for giving life advice? I think I'm gonna pretend it's divine intervention. It's 2010- By now, even God probably uses a computer.

Amber Rose

I can't say I know much about Amber Rose besides the fact She's Kanye's girlfriend and a model. I've also come to know her as the chick with the blond shaved head. All that is pretty cool in itself though but what I really like is the way these pictures look. Third and fourth are my absolute favorite. Smoke, mirror shots, and all that illusional stuff always gets me.
Shot by Hiltron Bailey.
Styled by the Boyfriend(not mine, hers!).
See the rest at Kanye's Blog.

And then I thought...

So,so true...I'm starting to realize that material objects ain't shitttt. I find happiness in genuity. Yet, there's something missing in my life, not yet sure what it is. Does anyone truly live having everything they ever wanted? Without Sacrifice?

Smile,Laugh,Cry,Just don't call it Quits

Probably one of my favorite scenes of the Titanic. Girl meets guy on ship, secret ecapades are made on said ship, External conflict threatens their relationship, their Love survives but the couple doesn't. I LOVED this movie as a child and it was probably my first tearjerker. James Cameron hit it big.

Now he hit it big again with Avatar. I'm totally reiterating what people have been saying about it but it was good. The effects were great, the characters and creatures were awesome. The plot was pretty good although some parts were a tiny bit predictable. Nevertheless, I got teary eyed at the part where all hell broke loose. I couldn't help but be reminded of unfortunate events. American/World Imperialism, anyone? The natives are looked upon as "savages" and humans are trying to force their language/customs on them while stealing away their natural resources. Although the movie would be offensive to indigenous people, I agree with a friend who said the movie or rather, movie director, is trying to convey a message. It's never okay for people to invade and destroy others.

Anyway, like I said, aesthetically it was gorgeous. From a fashion viewpoint, I loved the minimal wardrobe of the natives. There was an obvious tribal influence with that and the language (African,Asian,Native American peoples?) I'm visually inspired now- I want to recreate some of it! I'm also more tempted to sretch my ears now, too. Oh, the influence...
