Back To School
School starts soon and that is a sucky fact.But the best part?I have an excuse to go shopping and I'll be able to work soon.Some things I bought this past weekend(excuse my weird faces and the grainyness(argh),lol)
Forever 21 Jacket-I have a thing for anything moto-styled/ punk rock inspired clothing.Maybe it's asymmetrical articles of clothing.All I know is that I jumped to get this jacket when I saw it.It was the only one I saw around the store and just my size.One of the stiches in the cuff came apart though.Bummer!but I'm still in love with this jacket.
Oh yeah,I forgot to mention that I also love things with plaids ,checks,and especially big funnel or cowl necks.So of course I had to have this.I already have one in blue from h&m but the red one was calling my name.I only did the smart thing and bought it.
Ok, I love stripes,too! I think ruffly shirts are so cute but they usually look strangely too feminine when I wear them.This one was perfect.
Take A Picture,Maybe It'll Last Longer
My latest toy on the internet? Picnik.Ok,it's easy peasy but I've been playing around with my pictures all day and I've realized some things.. Here are some Pics from my trip in July.What a beautiful summer it's been.
I am in love with my camera right now.I'm starting to love photography as an artform and I definitely appreciate it more.Capturing the moment in a literal sense is intriguing to me.
Not to offend anyone but a while ago, I had never seen photographyas a legitimate art form before,you know?I figured it was too easy,just a person pressing a button to capture an image. Now I know that it is indeed.
Whether you're developing them or editing them(and not just using easy or automated tools),there is so much work that goes into a photograph before it is put on display.I had been wondering if photoediting was like cheating but then I read the opinions of a few people. They said something along the lines of this:when an artists,paint a picture or sketches a drawing,there is a lot of editing done before they call it a finished piece.Also,A photograph,or rather a camera, does cannot always capture the exact essence of the moment.Editing can help with that.Another point proven.
Right now I'm pretty naive about the world of photography but I'm curious to venture.I'd like to try out a real Slr camera and learn to develop my own pictures but since I'm such an amateur right now I can work with my little point and shoot for now.

Imaginary Foundation
Alright,I'm going to presume my role as a talking billboard. Soo... I'm a couple of days late on this but Imaginary Foundation,one of my favorite brands, released some new designs.The artwork on all their tees are beautiful and the subliminal messages on some of the shirts add a really nice touch. I personally love graphics that consume a lot of space on a shirt and Imaginary Foundation does it really well. For 30 bucks a pop,you are definitely getting what you paid for.The quality is awesome.I've washed mines probably 100 times already and my Imaginary Foundation shirt still looks like new. It's one of my most comfiest shirts.There's no worry about fading or graphics falling off .My Picks

I really should draw more often,especially since I want to do something art-related for a career choice.Why I don't?I don't know.I guess it stems from lack of inspiration.But then,when I do think of something to draw,I'm not sure it it will translate correctly onto paper.I guess practice makes better,eh?Therefore I'm going to try to draw daily and maybe I'll even paint at home and not just at work.Anyway,seeing other artists' works definitely inspire me to draw more because I know they didn't just get good sitting on their bum and never drawing.Inspiration for this post?Miss Van.Her art to me is just very beautiful.I guess I would use majestic as an adjective for her newer works.Her latest girls have taken a more dramatic turn,shown with closed eyelids.
I would love to go on about her greatness,but I'm not so good at writing about others so I'll lead you,eh?
Back In Boston-Bye OR!
Ok,so I actually got back home last friday but still,it's good to be back in Boston.I most definitely need to get back to posting.This past month I went on a kickass wilderness expedition in Washington and parts of Oregon with a awesome program called Open Roads.I spent all month(July 5th - August 1st)sleeping in a tent throughout various campgrounds with 16 strangers from all over the country. I hiked in the North Cascades as well as the ozette trail where the Makah Native American tribe once lived. I also hiked to camp meer at 10500 feet on Mount Rainier!That was probably one on the hardest things,physically and mentally,that I've had to do in my whole life. I learned so much about myself in this amount of time.Seriously, if you ever get offered a chance like this,take it!I feel like I could type all day about my trip but I won't.pictures of the great sights to come in the near future!
