Tim Walker Appreciation
Stumbled onto lookbook forums. Post on Favorite Fashion photographers appear on my screem. Several people mention their love for tim walker. Proceed to google. Typed in Tim Walker. Fell in love. Ok...how did I not know about this man before?! I guess he does more work for international magazines than American.I've always wondered who shot the whimsical juicy couture ads, full of coloured poodles and vibrant sets. Now I know and I'm so blown away by tim walker. The sets...like I mentioned are beautiful. Which makes him a fantastic interior/set designer + photographer.It's very rare I find a photographer whose vision I can identify with,one who takes my breath away. The lighting is very natural and sometimes ethereal or even dim. The pictures are pure fantasy. One of my goals as an artist is to be able to keep every aspect of my imagination. I refuse to let reality be the bane of my creativity.
I watched the interview on showstudio and I recall him saying he was scared of photography because of all the technicalities but obviously the man's vision has taken over fear of technicalities. Time to stop fawning but now I have an addition to my list of favorite photographers ever. Love Love Love <3
