It's A Wrap

Yesterday I received the skirt of my dreams and unfortunately it wasn't exactly a dream. So sad because I loved the print. However,it was shorter than I expected and the size was actually to big in the waist. That isn't too bad but the main concern was the fabric. It was wayyy lighter than I thought and super clingy. Still cute, just not worth 58 bucks. So that's off to the mailbox...
Next purchase? Something from piperlime! I always spend time drooling over clothes and shoes online so when I saw that Ms.Shoo from SheBreathes was doing a piperlime giveaway, I entered in a hearbeat and I won!Really exciting stuff considering the last time I won something was probably when I was 10(a stuffed seal at the local fair ,haha.) But yes, SheBreathes is an awesome blog with an awesome layout showcasing designers and artists that you may not have seen before. I've found many a designer's work that I love due to this site. It's pure eye candy so take a visit!(screenshot:taken from shebreathe's website)

($65.00, necklush ultra)
And speaking of sites, I love to visit and drool over, can I say that I love Etsy?I have a infinite list of favorite things but right now I'd really like a Necklush: ($40.00,necklush - natural with magenta print)

This would do double duty as a necklace/scarf for me. They're available in a nice varety of colors I love neck adornments for some reason- I have a bajillion necklaces and scarves(ok,exaggeration) taking up space in my closet but I'd still like more-the more, the merrier =)

No School, New Coat

As I sit here typing , I'm rejoicing in the fact that we have a snow day tomorrow. A break from school never hurts. I think this will be the fourth day off this school year due to a prediction of some major snow. It's the middle of winter and Spring is getting closer but in the meantime, I'm bundled up in my coat. Speaking of coats, I've been drowning in a sea of black peacoats. When 3/4 of the people on your train have this going on, the coats all look alike. I feel like it adds to the drearyness of my commute to and from school. A little bit of color never hurt nobody!I love you black, but I need some color to brighten up my day.I've been on a search for a bright coat to withstand the monotony of the black peacoat that every Bostonian seems to covet. If I don't find one in time for the rest of winter, I will definitely make up for it with a jacket in some blinding color for spring.I love these coats in the pictures but they are light years away from affordable as a broke high school student. But hey, a girl can and will continue to dream. Everything is from this lookbook . P.s- I would be crazy not to wear leggings or pants with the outfits that show bare legs. It's wayyy too cold for that right now!

Obsession

I posted this skirt before but I'll post again, haha!
So today I made the trek all the way across town with a friend in search of this skirt...

And to my unfortunate luck, they didn't have them! See, normally I wouldn't worry this much about a piece of cloth but this skirt is a very wearable, precious piece of art. I kinda wanted to cry when I found out it wasn't there. I checked the website every single day and saw every size available. But noooo...not today. They only had a size 6,10, and 12! So I bought it in a 6 not very sure if it's going to fit. Motivation never hurts and I would seriously lose a couple pounds to fit in this. The minor (no, major) setback for me? I just blew 63 bucks including shipping. Booo...but at least I can focus in class now. I literally have five bucks in my pocket for the rest of the week now. Lesson of the day? Sometimes you need to just indulge in something you love or else you'll regret it-oh yeah, resist temptation of material objects or they'll be you downfall, haha =)

Also I am very much planning to get a Lomo Camera. I know they're just plastic and a bit overprice but imagine the possibilities! they're on sale for 40 bucks from 80 at urban outfitters and perhaps they're the cheapest that i'll ever get them for. Next paycheck? Yes,I think so.

Happy Inauguration Day!

(The Infamous/Famous/Awesome Artwork from Shepard Fairey)
Hopefully(no pun intended) these next four years will be a time of change and good things to come this country. Today's inauguration affects everything from problems in our school's budget cuts to how I feel personally. There was and is a lot of hype on Obama but I hope it will not just be hype. Here's to four years of Barack!

Conceited?Well,Isn't Everyone? Day 2

When I get out of school, I go to work for a few hours. Fortunately, I love my job. I work in a photography studio learning, you guessed it,photography. Everyone in the studio loves the camera, being in front and behind it. Right now I feel more comfortable behind it but I'm starting to warm up to being the subject. Not yet though because I felt awkward taking pictures of myself with people around, lol. I'm going to try to take a picture everyday of myself 365 days in a row and post it. I want to see If there's a change over the year.
(Boo,My camera won't focus on self timer...or I just move too much)

I'm sad that I wasn't able to take a pic of my outfit without the coat,my battery ran out. What I wore: zippered pencil skirt, tshirt, batwing sweater, black leggings, and boots-Maybe I can umm... stimulate the outfit later this week?
Oh, And I'm going to South Africa this summer! It may be all sucky weather now in Boston but I can't wait for a few months when the weather is decent.

Monday Monday Monday

(With shoes)
my sister:I like your outfit...but not with those shoes (disgusted look)
me:ok,it's what I wore all day
brother:eww you wore that belt and those sneakers?( obviously weirded out)
me:umm yeah
Well I guess everyones a critic, guess I gotta dress for myself
Monday kinda sucked today, at the beginning anyway. I did my laundry and ley it dry overnight and put it in the dryer to dry overnight. All was good until it broke on me when I wokr up. It wouldn't turn on at all and I was stuck with an empty( kind of) closet. With 10 minutes before I was going to be late to school, I put together a decent outfit. Not too shabby after all. It was cold today but it's supposed to be all week.Andddd...I'm going to ghana this summer!!! or maybe india but not sure yet. It's going to be volunteer and I 'm really, really excited!

Lunchroom Lowdown
I've got something to say
'bout where I stand
lunchroom lowdown
baby take a look around
you've got cliques at tables
steady telling fables
the freaks and the geeks
the ones that act all sleek
look around and where am I?
I'm sure I don't belong
It's why I wrote this song
to figure where I sit
cuz I'm tired of this shit
Yeah I know I'm not a hit
but give me just a little bit
of the gossip, world news, opinions
lunchroom lowdown in my ear
but I'm sitting at this table
and I'm sure it's out of fear
these girls they don't say anything
their heads hang down
they don't smile, they don't frown
just stare into space
don't even look me in the face
and now I know I don't belong here
can't be apart of the crowd
best to live it out
leave in one more year

New Year

Happy 2009! All my resolutions basically sum up into one: to live life to the fullest and be best I can be, Physically and mentally.I also will blog more often. I started this blog as a way of documenting my style but I guess I've expanded it. My life and style, I guess.Actually,What am I saying? This whole winter vacation, the style side has been pretty much nonexistent considering I went NOWHERE.Haha,However I've been internet window shopping like crazy.
Things I need in my life

A random assortment of things because I did not have the time to seperate them.Lazy me, I'll have to work on that.
